Ben Jones’ fundraising journey highlights community support

Ben Jones began supporting Leeds Children’s Charity in early 2026 after discovering the organisation while searching for local causes benefiting children and families in Leeds. Motivated by the charity’s work, he decided to get involved and has since been actively fundraising.

Personal connection and fundraising efforts

Ben’s motivation is partly personal. Earlier this year, he lost his grandmother, Rita, and chose to honour her memory through his fundraising activities. As part of this tribute, Ben and his family were invited to Lineham Farm, a facility run by the charity, where they planted flowers in Rita’s memory.

Ben described the visit as a memorable experience and praised the charity’s facilities and staff dedication. He expressed a desire for his future children to have the opportunity to visit Lineham Farm, recognising the value of the experiences it offers.

Fundraising progress and upcoming challenge

So far, Ben has raised £345 towards his target of £1,000. He is preparing to run an ultra marathon in October to support the charity’s work further. His fundraising efforts contribute to the charity’s mission of creating safe spaces and joyful experiences for children and young carers across Leeds.
