Woodland Family Rave at Lineham Farm Draws Large Local Crowd

Community event combines music, movement and outdoor activities

A family-focused event held at Lineham Farm in Leeds recently brought together local residents for a day of music, dance and woodland exploration. The Woodland Family Rave, organised in partnership with the group Boomchikkaboom, aimed to provide an active and imaginative experience for children and adults alike, while raising funds for Leeds Children’s Charity.

The event took place in the natural surroundings of Lineham Farm, which is home to Leeds Children’s Charity. For 90 minutes, the woodland area was transformed into a lively dance space where families could participate in live guided dance routines suitable for all ages. The sessions encouraged movement and interaction without requiring any previous dance experience.

Alongside the dancing, attendees enjoyed a variety of activities including:

• Campfire marshmallow toasting

These activities were designed to engage children while allowing parents to participate, fostering a shared family experience. The setting also allowed visitors to appreciate the countryside views and observe farm animals on site.

The event was reported as a sell-out, indicating strong local interest in accessible and inclusive family activities. Proceeds from ticket sales contributed to the charity’s work supporting children facing poverty, disadvantage or other challenging circumstances in the Leeds area.

Following the success of this event, organisers announced plans to host a second Woodland Family Rave at Lineham Farm, offering a similar programme of music, dance and outdoor fun.
